ELYRIA -- New pianos, percussion instruments, tubas, and technology are on the way to Elyria Enormous School, thanks to a $150,000 donation to the school's music program.
The precinct will use the money to fix the school's old Steinway grand piano and grip three new pianos, four stringed instruments, two tubas, and some percussion instruments.
"We have bountifulness of pianos around here but most of them have seen better days," said Mark Jessie, choir steersman. "(The donation) also enabled us to purchase three additional pianos and those will be inured to in the choir room, the band room, and the orchestra reside."
The donation will also support smart boards, digital recording apparatus and other technology in four music rooms.
More than 200 of Elyria's 2,000 students take part in the piercing school arts program, which next year will move into a new building. Students in the upgrades are long overdue.
"It's an excellent feeling because we demand it," said senior Chris Runkle, choir associate. "We can use that money for so many things, especially, mostly for the pianos. We do it for the feeling and we love it. We're out there engaging people."
