Fairhope Intermediary

By JOY DAVIS and CAROLINE MCLEAN

B.E.A.R. Fair was the big news this week on campus.

Many students were ruffled about getting to go to the Lolly tree as an award for encouraging reading. Here is how it works: Students conspicuous in seven completed postcards or at least one order and they get to go to the Lolly tree. Each lollipop dwell has a certain color on the end and the color indicates which wonderful stakes you have won. It is exciting, and a great way for students to help their school recall gather much-needed funds.

Another exciting event occurred Sunday. Trenton Lee Stewart was at Announce and Palette to sign his latest book in the Mysterious Benedict Fellowship series, The Mysterious Benedict Society and the Prisoner’s Jam. He came to Fairhope because some of our very own fourth-graders won a display challenge for his newest book. In addition to a book signing, there was a fundraiser for the pitch of Mulan Jr. Jitterbug Theatre’s fall staging. This wonderful play, which features several of our fourth- and fifth-declivity students, was chosen as a participant in the Theater for Youth Invitational Fete held at the Southeastern Theatre Conference’s annual tradition. Wow. Way to go, students.
