A nationally known cancer inquire into fundraiser is set to kick off Thursday with a social mixer in Willows designed to endorse and educate the community about the event.
The American Cancer Culture's Relay for Life is coming to Willows at a still undetermined appointment, according to Terri Hancock, the event chairwoman.
She said planners are aiming for sometime in initial June, but no dates have been finalized.
Information the basic rules and conspire packets will be handed out Thursday at the kick-off mixer, Hancock said.
"It's flourishing to be a lot of fun," she said, "it's food, drinks and information."
Relay for Existence is a 24-hour noncompetitive relay and "walk-a-thon" that provides participants an chance to help fight against the deadly disease while honoring survivors and remembering loved ones devastated, Hancock explained.
Typically, teams are formed to run or slog a certain time period, with someone from the group filling out each division of the 24-hour period.
